Este año el premio es para el científico alemán Klaus Hasselmann, así como para el japonés Syukuro Manabe y el italiano Giorgio Parisi. Han sido reconocidos por sus «contribuciones revolucionarias a nuestra comprensión de los sistemas físicos complejos», anunció el martes el Comité del Nobel.
